Principle of Piezoelectric Rain Sensor

Sensors used to detect the amount of rainfall include "resistance sensors", "piezoelectric sensors", and "photoelectric sensors".

Piezoelectric rain sensors utilize the impact measurement principle to measure the weight of individual raindrops to calculate the amount of rainfall. The raindrops are subjected to the weight of the raindrops and air resistance during the landing process, and the speed is constant when they reach the ground. According to P= mv, the weight of the raindrops can be calculated by measuring the impact, and then the amount of continuous rainfall can be obtained.

It can measure up to 8mm/min rainfall intensity, which is one times larger than the traditional rainfall monitoring range.

The piezoelectric rain gauge integrates all components in one housing without any exposed parts, eliminating the influence of leaves, dust, insects and other debris on data accuracy, and reducing the disadvantages of maintenance of different functional components.
