Moisture deficiency is a term used in agricultural production to refer to the lack of soil moisture to meet the water required in plant growth. Moisture is related to the type of crop and the period of fertility in which the crop is growing, with different crop varieties and periods of growth requiring different amounts of moisture. Moisture deficiency is a conflict between the crop's demand for moisture and its supply. When soil relative humidity is used to assess agricultural drought, the degree of moisture deficiency can be categorised as mild, moderate and severe depending on the relative soil humidity. Persistent heavy moisture deficit may lead to agricultural drought, which is one of the most serious disasters in agriculture and may affect crop yields. Therefore, solving the problem of moisture deficiency is crucial for agricultural production. The adverse effects of moisture deficiency can be mitigated by strengthening the construction of water conservancy infrastructure, promoting the construction of standardised farmland, the scientific use of soil conditioners and the implementation of scientific field management, so as to ensure normal growth and high and stable crop yields.
Through monitoring soil moisture, we can grasp the dynamic pattern of soil moisture changes in a timely manner and comprehensively assess the moisture status of different soil layers. In order to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the data, the fixed moisture stations will collect data on relative soil humidity, average moisture content and field water holding capacity at regular intervals. These data are rapidly transmitted to the rainfall and drought summary platform of the hydrological centre through GPRS technology, enabling technicians to quickly complete the mapping of soil relative humidity distribution, as well as the analysis and prediction of drought conditions. This efficient data transmission and processing process provides timely and accurate data support for drought decision-making.
Soil moisture is a key indicator for assessing the water content in the soil of the crop plough layer, which can accurately reflect the moisture status of the soil. Through the monitoring of soil moisture, we are able to get a comprehensive, scientific and real understanding of the dynamic changes of soil moisture in the monitored area, which is of vital reference value for the formulation of reasonable strategies for drought prevention and drought relief and water-saving irrigation.
As an important means of flood and drought disaster early warning, the automatic monitoring system of water and rain is of great significance to the realization of water resources security. Like the automatic weather station, it has the functions of data collection, analysis, processing and early wa...
Soil is a key natural resource and is vital for crop growth. Crops are affected by dry or excessively wet soils, and economic and social development and climate change have exacerbated the problem of drought, leading to increased water scarcity and associated disaster losses.
