1.Ice thickness sensor product introduction
Ice thickness sensor is a digital ice thickness measuring instrument that monitors the thickness of the ice in real time to ensure the normal operation of the wire.Transmission line ice accumulation refers to the icing phenomenon caused by super-cooled water temperature or ice crystals constantly condensing on the wires under low temperature rain and snow weather conditions.The icing of wires has a great impact on the operation of the power grid.When the ice accumulates to a certain extent, it will cause poles, towers, wires to break, etc., resulting in damage to the power grid and interruption of power transmission, causing adverse effects.In view of the huge harm of ice accumulation on wires, someone needs to keep checking the lines in bad weather, but in some places with harsh environments, personnel cannot patrol.This product is designed to solve this problem.
This Ice thickness sensor uses microwave detection technology.Based on the difference in feedback information of microwave signals to ice, water, air and other substances, it monitors the ice information in the sensor's sensitive area and calculates the ice thickness based on the signal strength and the distribution of ice in the sensor area.This product is generally installed on a power tower.By measuring the ice accumulation on this sensor, the ice accumulation of the wires near the current power tower can be determined.

3.Ice thickness sensor product features
1.Can detect weather conditions such as ice thickness and rain.
2.Temperature detection sensor.
3.It can actively transmit measurement data at regular intervals, and also support master-slave mode of data transmission.
4.It has ice-melting function.When the transmission line is melting ice, the ice-melting command can be sent to this sensor at the same time (the ice-melting function requires a separate power supply of 12VDC, 12W).
5.Each device has a unique number, which must be included in communications.It is suitable for large-scale monitoring systems.
6.Main test items
Weather conditions: There are 6 conditions: dry, ice, rain, waterlogging, melting, and freezing.Ice thickness measurement is only effective when the ice is frozen.
Temperature detection: There are two temperature measurement points, one is to measure the temperature near the circuit board, and the other is to measure the temperature of the ice melting heater.
4.Ice thickness sensor installation method
1.Generally, when using this sensor, a solar power generation system is required to power this terminal system.As shown in Figure 1 below, this terminal is installed on a power tower of a transmission line in the line to be monitored.

5.Ice thickness sensor ice melting function
The heater does not heat continuously during ice melting.It heats for 10 seconds and stops for 25 seconds, alternating between heating for 10 seconds and stopping for 25 seconds.The process ends only when the heater temperature reaches 50°C and stops automatically or the user stops melting ice manually.
