Soil moisture monitoring equipment is equipped with a variety of sensors capable of measuring key parameters such as soil temperature, humidity, electrical conductivity (EC), nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content as well as pH. By arranging these sensors in a hierarchical manner, soil properties in different soil layers can be monitored in real time.
Soil moisture monitoring technology uses sensors and monitoring tools to measure soil moisture and other key indicators on a regular or continuous basis, and uploads the results to a central database or cloud platform for in-depth analysis and archiving.
This technology is particularly critical in the agricultural sector, where it enables farmers and agricultural experts to accurately understand the distribution of soil moisture and its dynamics, so that they can make more rational irrigation and land management decisions.
"Moisture" describes the level of moisture in the soil that is suitable for plant growth, i.e. the actual moisture content of the soil. Three key indicators of soil moisture include: the saturated moisture content of the soil, which is the maximum amount of moisture that the soil can hold; the field holding capacity, which is the amount of moisture that the soil can hold during the growing period of the crop; and the wilting coefficient, which refers to the moisture content of the soil at the time when wilting begins to occur in the plant.
Conducting soil moisture monitoring provides insight into the dynamics of soil moisture in agricultural fields, which is essential for timely understanding of crop water requirements. It is an important means and basic guarantee for realizing agricultural drought mitigation, guiding farmers in scientific irrigation and promoting water-saving agricultural technologies.
In the absence of instrumentation, the moisture condition of the soil can be quickly assessed by hand feel and is usually categorised into the following four classes:Wet: if water flows out visibly when the soil is squeezed, this indicates high soil moisture.Wet: Soil that leaves wet marks in the ha...
Real-time monitoring of soil moisture is crucial to agriculture, not only for the quality of crop growth, but also for agricultural drought mitigation. Modern soil moisture monitoring technology achieves precise control of soil moisture status through intelligent means, which greatly improves the sc...
Field microclimate refers to a small local area, which is the most important environmental condition affecting crop growth and development and yield formation. By analyzing the distribution and characteristics of microclimate elements in farmland through field microclimate observation stations, we c...
The river water level and rainfall monitoring system is based on the Internet of Things technology, combined with meteorological data and other relevant parameters to achieve real-time observation and management of river flow. It is mainly used in flood control, flood prevention early warning and wa...
