1.Dam Monitoring Background
Dam Monitoring can obtain real-time information of dam deformation, seepage, upstream and downstream water level, rainfall, temperature and other environmental variables. The safety of reservoirs during the flood season has always been a difficult and key point in my country's flood control. The safety of small and medium-sized reservoirs during the flood season has become a weak link in the current national flood control work. Most reservoirs lack the necessary safety monitoring facilities, and the inspection methods are backward, which poses great hidden dangers. Once a local rainstorm or flood occurs, it is very easy to cause a dam breach, which may cause property losses at the least, or cause heavy casualties or devastating disasters at the worst.
As of the end of 2018, 98,822 reservoirs of various types had been built across the country. However, most of the small and medium-sized reservoirs were built in the 1960s and 1970s and are three-sided projects. On the one hand, most of the reservoirs have low flood control standards, poor engineering quality, serious siltation, and shrinking effective storage capacity, and are in a state of sick operation. On the other hand, many reservoirs have reached or exceeded their designed service life and are seriously aging, and the potential safety hazards of reservoir projects are prominent.
2. Overview of Dam Monitoring System
In order to achieve the goal of building digital water conservancy in my country, our company took the lead in closely integrating cloud computing with the Internet of Things to establish an intelligent, automated, and information-based online monitoring system for reservoir and dam safety. It has functions such as remote data transmission, real-time online monitoring and early warning, and plays a vital role in ensuring the safe operation of reservoirs and dams.

6. Dam Monitoring Implementation Function
1. Data can be displayed in graphical form, including water level flow relationship, water level process line, rainfall bar graph, seepage pressure, seepage process line, time history curve graph, simulation diagram, histogram, bar graph and other forms.
2. Real-time monitoring can be carried out around the clock under various climatic conditions.
3. Once the monitoring data exceeds the preset value, it can issue an early warning and notify relevant units to take corresponding measures immediately.
A rain monitor is a specialized device that can be used to monitor and record rainfall at different locations. The main components are rainfall sensors and data output devices. The following are the main features of the rain monitor and its working principle:Features: The rainfall monitor is characte...
Sensor technology is developing rapidly and is widely used, especially in the field of consumer electronics. In agriculture, however, the pace of application of this technology has been relatively slow. Modern greenhouses, for example, are typically equipped with only one sensor per 1,000 square met...
As an important part of the ecosystem, wetlands play a pivotal role in maintaining biodiversity and providing human health. As global climate change and water scarcity become more and more prominent, people are increasingly concerned about the impact of protecting and utilizing natural resources on...
Wind is a phenomenon of air movement in the atmosphere, and its speed and direction are influenced by a variety of factors, including topography, climate, and seasons. A wind rose is a type of chart used to represent the distribution of wind direction and speed; it shows the frequency and intensity...
