Among the four conditions of agriculture (moisture, seedling, disease and disaster), moisture is a crucial aspect. Good moisture condition can provide necessary water support for crop growth and development, and promote crop growth and yield increase. Therefore, moisture has a very important position among the four conditions of agriculture.
Moisture has a decisive influence on crop growth and yield. Crops need the right amount of water to support their growth and development, and the moisture content directly affects the soil moisture status. If the moisture level is poor and the soil is not adequately hydrated, it will lead to crop dehydration, stunted growth, and decreased yields. On the contrary, if the moisture condition is too good and the soil moisture is too much, it will lead to crop roots lacking oxygen and affect the growth and development of crops. Therefore, mastering the changing law of moisture content and taking corresponding measures to regulate and manage it is very important to ensure the normal growth and yield increase of crops. In dry and water-scarce areas, good moisture management can ensure the normal growth and development of crops and improve the efficiency of agricultural production. At the same time, reasonable moisture management can also protect soil resources, avoid soil erosion and other environmental problems, and provide a guarantee for the sustainable development of agricultural production.
So how to measure the moisture content?
Artificial monitoring of soil moisture is the most basic method, and the procedure is to drill a certain amount of soil at a selected location and depth with a soil extraction auger. In order to prevent evaporation, the soil samples taken out should be immediately put into an aluminum box and marked. It is brought back to the laboratory for weighing, drying, reweighing, analyzing and calculating to get the soil water content. The results of this method are accurate and reliable, it is the basis of other methods, and the monitoring location can be fixed. However, its workload is relatively large, the data cannot be obtained on site, and it is relatively difficult to monitor a large area at multiple points.
In addition to this, there is also the rapid instrumentation method - the land monitoring and supervision system, which is also known as the moisture monitoring system. The advantages are easy to operate, fast, high accuracy, can get the data on site, suitable for multi-point large area monitoring. The soil moisture sensors can be flexibly arranged according to the user's needs, and the sensors can also be arranged at different depths to measure the profile soil moisture condition. The system can not only monitor the most important parameter of moisture - soil moisture in real time, but also add probes according to the user's needs to monitor the soil temperature and soil conductivity, PH value, etc., as well as air temperature and humidity, light intensity, wind speed and direction, rainfall and other information. The supporting software can flexibly set the sampling period and storage period of moisture parameters, patrol and recall data and analyze data according to the user's needs.
Monitoring soil moisture is very important. Firstly, it can accurately understand the moisture content in the soil, provide scientific basis for agricultural production, ensure that crops grow in a suitable moisture environment, and improve yield and quality. Secondly, it can reasonably arrange irri...
