With the arrival of winter, snowfall becomes a common occurrence, which not only reduces visibility but also brings many inconveniences to people's travel, increasing the risk of traffic accidents and affecting the efficiency of airports, stations, and ports. Therefore, monitoring changes in air visibility is crucial for people's daily life and production activities. By monitoring visibility in real-time, relevant departments can timely adjust transportation, logistics, production, and public lighting, and road safety departments can issue warnings to drivers to reduce the occurrence of traffic accidents.
Road Weather Sensors are key equipment for achieving this monitoring. They consist of core components such as a light emitter, a light receiver, and a microprocessor. These sensors use a clamp structure, making them easy to install on various cylindrical structures. The shell is made of high-density materials, which have good dust and moisture resistance, and the structure is sturdy, allowing it to work stably even in severe weather conditions such as heavy rain, snowstorms, or hail.
When working, the light emitter of Road Weather Sensors emits infrared light pulses, and the light receiver detects the forward scattering intensity of these pulses by aerosol particles in the air. The microprocessor collects this measurement data and uses specific mathematical model algorithms to convert the data into Meteorological Optical Range (MOR), providing key information for meteorological and environmental monitoring.
