Laser ceilometer is an instrument that uses lasers to emit lasers at cloud bodies and measures the height of cloud bases by analyzing the changes of laser echoes.Laser ceilometer is a backscattering laser radar that uses the Mie scattering principle. The observation range can reach 12 kilometers, and it can effectively measure aerosols, cloud height, cloud thickness, cloud amount and vertical visibility. It can be applied to complex aerosol research or integrated into large-scale observation networks. It is a representative solution of the highest technical level for the diverse needs of atmospheric research.

3. Working principle of Laser ceilometer

Based on the Mie scattering principle, by measuring the backscattered signal profile of the atmosphere to the emitted infrared light beam, it is determined whether there are clouds in the direction of the light path, and the cloud base height, cloud penetration thickness, aerosol extinction coefficient, sky atmospheric boundary layer height, and vertical visibility output when the sky is blurred are calculated. By establishing a time series of cloud base height, the cloud cover can be statistically estimated.

The equipment adopts advanced infrared laser remote sensing technology, with accurate cloud base height measurement, rich data products, stable and reliable operation, and simple use and maintenance.

4. Laser ceilometer product features

1. Adopting Mie scattering laser technology, the signal transmission power is strong and stable, and the measurement distance is long.

2. The equipment has penetrating measurement capabilities and can measure multiple layers of cloud and aerosol data simultaneously.

3. Use highly sensitive optical components to obtain high-precision measurement results: The optical design enables the application of narrow-band filters, effectively suppresses optical effects, and can accurately measure clouds and aerosols both during the day and at night.

4. The dual-lens design allows for self-checking between lenses, maximally eliminating the impact of lens contamination. It is not easily affected by diffuse reflection of particles in the atmosphere, and has a high sampling accuracy of 5m.

5. Reliable operation around the clock, equipped with a sealed metal shell and automatic window heating system, not affected by fog, rain or freezing.

6. Friendly operation interface and ease of use, simple maintenance, no consumable parts.
